Important Dates on the UTEP Academic Calendar for 2022–2023

 

Academic year 2022–2023 at UTEP. There are three semesters per year—fall, spring, and summer—at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). The UTEP semesters last 15 weeks.

At UTEP, a full-time undergraduate student must have 12 credits or more, and a full-time graduate student must have 9 credits or more.

UTEP academic calendar fall 2022

1. Fall 2022 Registration Begins on March 28, 2022.
2. August 11, 2022 is the Last Day to Clear Students on Suspension/Probation as well as those with Insufficient Prerequisites.
3. Drops for Students with Unsatisfactory Academic Standing, Insufficient Prerequisites, and Prior Grades of C in the Course is on August 12, 2022.
4. Financial Aid is Disbursed on August 15, 2022.
5. UTEP Fall 2022 classes begin on August 22, 2022.
6. Late Registration (Fees incurred) is from August 22, 2022 to August 26, 2022.
7. Labor Day Holiday is September 5, 2022 – UTEP University is Closed.
8. UTEP Fall Census Day is September 7, 2022.
9. September 7, 2022 is the last day to register for classes.
10. Fall 2022 Payments are due by 5:00 pm on September 7, 2022.
11. The 20th Class Day is September 19, 2022, according to UTEP academic calendar 2022-2023.
12. UTEP Students who were given a payment deadline extension will be dropped at 5:00 pm on September 19, 2022 if payment arrangements have not been made.
13. The Graduation application deadline for degree conferral is September 30, 2022.
14. The fall Drop/Withdrawal Deadline is October 28, 2022.
15. Student-initiated drops are permitted after October 28, 2022, but the student is not guaranteed a grade of W. The faculty member of record will issue a grade of either W or F.
16. November 11, 2022 is the deadline to submit candidates’ names for degree conferral.
17. UTEP Thanksgiving break is from November 24 to November 25, 2022. University Closed.
18. Fall 2022 last day of classes is December 1, 2022.
19. UTEP Dead day is December 2, 2022.
20. Fall 2022 Final Exams are from December 5 to December 9, 2022.
21. UTEP Fall Commencement (graduation date) is on December 10, 2022 and December 11, 2022.
22. Fall 2022 Grades are Due on December 14, 2022.
23. Grades are posted to student records on December 15, 2022; UTEP students are notified of grades and academic standing

calendar for the 2023 winter semester at UTEP

1. December 28, 2022 is the last day to clear students on suspension/probation as well as those with insufficient prerequisites.
2. Drops for students with unsatisfactory academic standing, insufficient prerequisites, and prior grades of C in the course are on December 29, 2022.
3. Financial aid is disbursed on December 30, 2022.
4. Wintermester classes begin on January 2, 2023.
5. January 2, 2023 is the last day to register.
6. Census day is January 2, 2023, according to UTEP academic calendar 2022-2023.
7. January 9, 2023 is the Wintermester drop/withdrawal deadline.
8. Student-initiated drops are permitted after January 9, 2023, but the student is not guaranteed a grade of W. The faculty member of record will issue a grade of either W or F.
9. Wintermester’s last day of class is January 13, 2023.
10. Wintermester final exams are on January 14, 2023.

Spring 2023 academic year at UTEP

5. Financial Aid is Disbursed on January 9, 2023.
6. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Holiday is January 16, 2023. University is Closed.
7. UTEP Spring classes begin on January 17, 2023.
8. Late Registration (Fees incurred) is from January 17 to January 20, 2023.
9. Spring Census Day is February 1, 2023, according to UTEP academic calendar 2022-2023.
10. February 1, 2023 is the last day to register for classes.
11. Payments are due by 5:00 pm on February 1, 2023.
12. 20th Class Day is February 13, 2023.

18. Cesar Chavez Holiday is March 31, 2023. No classes for UTEP students.
19. Spring 2023 Study Day is April 7, 2023.
20. April 14, 2023 is the deadline to submit candidates’ names for the commencement program.
21. The last day of classes for the Spring 2023 semester is May 4, 2023.
22. UTEP Dead day is May 5, 2023.
23. Spring Final Exams are from May 8 to May 12, 2023.
24. UTEP Spring Commencement (2023 graduation date) is on May 13 2023 and May 14, 2023.
25. Grades are Due on May 17, 2023.
26. Grades are posted to student records on May 18, 2023; UTEP students are notified of grades and academic standing.
27. UTEP Summer Registration Begins on March 27, 2023.
28. June 1, 2023 is the Last Day to Clear Students on Suspension/Probation as well as those with Insufficient Prerequisites.

33. June 14, 2023 is the Last Day to Register for Summer I.
34. Summer I Payment Deadline is June 14, 2023.
35. Juneteenth Holiday is June 19, 2023. University is Closed.
36. Summer Full Term Census Day is June 20, 2023.
37. June 20, 2023 is the Last Day to Register for the Summer Full Term.
38. Summer Full Term Payment Deadline is June 20, 2023.
39. Summer I Drop/Withdrawal Deadline is June 27, 2023.
40. Student-initiated drops are permitted after June 27, 2023, but the student is not guaranteed a grade of W. The faculty member of record will issue a grade of either W or F.
41. Independence Day Holiday is July 4, 2023. University is Closed.
42. July 7, 2023 is Summer I’s Last Day of Classes.
43. Summer I Final Exams are on July 10, 2023; Full Term classes do not meet.
44. Summer II Classes Begin on July 11, 2023.
45. Summer II Census Day is July 13, 2023.
46. July 13, 2023 is the Last Day to Register for Summer II; the Summer II Payment Deadline.
47. Summer Full Term Drop/Withdrawal Deadline is July 17, 2023.
48. Student-initiated drops are permitted after July 17, 2023, but the student is not guaranteed a grade of W. The faculty member of record will issue a grade of either W or F.
49. July 17, 2023 is the Graduation application deadline for degree conferral.
50. Summer II Drop/Withdrawal Deadline is July 27, 2023.
51. Student-initiated drops are permitted after July 27, 2023, but the student is not guaranteed a grade of W. The faculty member of record will issue a grade of either W or F.
52. August 7, 2023 is Summer II & Full Term Last day of classes (*pending Faculty Senate approval*).
53. Summer II & Full Term Final Exams are from August 8, 2023 and August 9, 2023.
54. Summer Grades are Due on August 11, 2023.
55. Grades are posted to student records on August 13, 2023; students are notified of grades and academic standing.
